Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Drug and Firearms Arrest (Names Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 10, 2024 to 5:00 am on July 11, 2024.

Suspicious person call leads to charges
On the 11th of July at 3:30am, Belleville Police received a call to attend an address on Hwy 37 for a report of a male prowling around a residence. Police attended and quickly located the suspect. Following their investigation, police arrested and charged 42-year-old Nathan Putman of Tweed with trespass by night and failing to comply with his Probation Order. Putman was released on an Undertaking with a court date in August.

Project RENEWAL
Drug (Cocaine- Fentanyl) and Firearms Arrest

As a result of a drug trafficking investigation in the City of Belleville, on the 10th of July, members of Project Renewal executed a Controlled Drugs Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence in the city’s east end. Assistance was provided by the Belleville Police K9 Team and Emergency Response Unit.
Police seized the following items:
· 11.6 grams Cocaine
· 119 grams Fentanyl
· 8 Codeine Pills
· $980 Canadian Currency
· Digital Scales
· A 9mm Polymer hand gun that had a magazine containing 17 live rounds
· A sawed-off Savage 12-gauge shotgun
· A taser
· Four cell phones
· An airsoft pistol with magazine

32-year old Cheyenne Maracle of Belleville was charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA
2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA
3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Codeine – Sec 5(2) CDSA
4. Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(b) CC
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Sec. 91(1) CC x 2
6. Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Sec 91(2) CC x 3
7. Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm – Sec 95(1)
8. Careless storage of a firearm – Sec 86(1) x 2

42-year-old Jesse Draker of Belleville was charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA
2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA
3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Codeine – Sec 5(2) CDSA
4. Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(b) CC
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Sec. 91(1) CC x 2
6. Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Sec 91(2) CC x 3
7. Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm – Sec 95(1)
8. Careless storage of a firearm – Sec 86(1) x 2
9. Possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order Sec 117.01(1)
10. Breach of Probation Sec 733.1(1)
