Cobourg Resident Makes Top 20 List in Push-Up Challenge

Cobourg resident Chris Dingman has made the top 20 fundraisers list in the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Push-Up challenge, which runs through Feb. 23.

This is the first year for this fundraiser in Canada, after a number of successful ones in Australia. Each participant gets a daily push-up challenge and raises funds on-line. On Monday, having surpassed the $2,700 mark (and having originally set his goal at $500), Dingman is number 15 in all of Canada.

Interviewed last week for Today’s Northumberland, he related how he has seen too many friends and colleagues fall through the cracks and even turn to suicide. For him it’s more than a personal fitness challenge – it’s deeply personal.

Dingman has designated that the funds he raised go to the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge CMHA to support mental-health services in our area.
