Small Fire Extinguished at Lions Pavilion in Cobourg

Cobourg Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at the Lions Pavilion on Thursday February 1, 2024.

At approximately 8:40 a.m. firefighters responded to a small fire coming from the bottom of the pavilion.

When crews arrived they discovered a person had placed a plastic tarp over a picnic table and it appears put rubbing alcohol in a pop can and lit it on fire – using it for warmth.

Firefighters spoke with the individual and put out the fire with a small amount of snow.
