Durham Regional Police – Homicide in Oshawa Claims Life of 62-Year-Old Man

Investigators have released the name of the victim and one accused in Durham Region’s second homicide of 2024.

 On Monday, January 22, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members from Central East Division were called to the area of Dean Avenue and Ritson Road South in Oshawa for reports of a disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene and located a 62-year-old male outside the residence suffering from obvious signs of trauma.  He was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

 A post-mortem examination confirmed that Steven TURGEON, age 62 of Oshawa, died as a result of a stabbing.

 Two suspects fled the area on foot.  Police located one of the suspects a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.  Police are still searching for the second suspect.

 Tyler STEPHENS, age 32 from Clarington is charged with: Second Degree Murder.
