Alderville First Nation held their annual Remembrance service on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Members of the ceremony assembled at the Alderville Community Centre before marching to the cenotaph for the ceremony at 1 p.m.
For the first time, Alderville First Nation Chief Taynar Simpson lead the service reading the names of the enlisted and fallen from the community.
The laying of family wreaths included, Beaver, Bigwin, Blaker, Comeco, Chase, Chubb, Tobico, Crowe, Franklin, Gray, Loukes, Marsden, Simpon, Smoke and Sunday.
World War II veteran Don Smoke was in attendance and also taking part were dignitaries from across Northumberland County and the Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums Band.
