Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Theft and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (No Name Released)

A 33-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a theft from a local business.

On Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., police were called to a theft in progress at a business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg. Police investigations revealed that an individual entered the business, selected and concealed merchandise, and left without paying.

Police attended and located the male as he was leaving the area, placing him under arrest. The stolen product was recovered from the male. As a result, a 33-year-old Cobourg man was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
