Port Hope Panthers Win Back-to-Back Nights

The Port Hope Panthers have two wins so far during their stretch of three Provincial Junior C Hockey League games in four nights.

Friday night in Napanee, the Panthers edged the Raiders 2-1 with Isaac Langdon and Sidney Wakely providing the offence. 

Saturday night at the Jack Burger Sports Complex in Port Hope, the Panthers earned a 5-1 victory over the Campbellford Rebels. Langdon scored two more goals while Ben Hansen, Carter Chadwick and Spencer Eriksson also found the back of the net. 

Port Hope is in Frankford on Monday night to take on the Huskies. Game time is 6:50.

In Ontario Junior A Hockey League action Saturday night in Stouffville, the Cobourg Cougars prevailed 7-1 over the Spirit. Logan Kelly and Trevor Hoskin each scored twice with singles from Kaiden Harmon, Jordan Fuller and Beckett Ewart, who tallied his first OJHL goal.

Monday night, the Cougars host the Trenton Golden Hawks at 7pm at the Cobourg Community Centre.

The West Northumberland Wild U13 B team blanked the Peterborough Ice Kats 3-0 in Ontario Women’s Hockey League play Saturday afternoon at the CCC.

Kinsley Bambrough and Leah Latchford each had a goal and an assist. Magaly Fortin also scored with Hannah Greenly earned an assist on the play. Goaltender Annemieke Loohuizen earning the shutout.

Saturday evening, the U18 B Wild settled for a 3-3 tie against the visiting Napanee Crunch at the CCC. Meadow Ward, Kori Turner and Addie Parish scored for the Wild with Charly Kearns, Brooklyn Heipel and Ellie Coyle drawing assists. Goaltender Eva Ritchie faced 42 shots during a strong performance in net for her West Northumberland team.

The Northumberland Nighthawks U13 double-A team were doubled up 4-2 by the Ajax/Pickering Raiders in Ontario Minor Hockey Association Lakeshore League play Saturday afternoon in Pickering.

Ryland Weir and Mac Dekyser scored in the loss while Nighthawks goaltender Mason Lowe held his own while facing a barrage of shots.
