Busy Weekend Along the Waterfront in Cobourg

In Local, Photo Gallery, Weather

The beach was packed and for the most part it was glorious weather for the weekend of August 4-6, 2023.

Cobourg seems to be the destination hot spot for not only the beach, but sailing and fishing off of Cobourg Harbour on Lake Ontario.

Without lifeguards, a watercraft seemed to snug in between the bathers on Saturday.  People waited patiently in line for food on a blistering hot day.

Along the roadways, by-law officers did a great job checking vehicles.  One vehicle was believed to have been towed on Saturday after blocking a driveway.  Another was issued a ticket for parking the wrong way on Charles Street which is a one-way street.

Approximately 20 porta-potties have been set up along the beach for the upcoming Sandcastle Festival, and birds including cormorants and terns were resting on the east pier.

It was a busy weekend in Cobourg and everyone seemed to be enjoying the summer weather.
