Have Your Say at Community Conversation “Pop-Ups”

In Upcoming Events

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
Following a successful first week of consultation on its new Community Strategic Plan, Northumberland County is inviting citizens to share their thoughts in person at a series of Community Conversation pop-ups over the next two weekends.

That first week saw almost 500 members of the community visit Join In Northumberland to learn more and more than 110 people submitting ideas, vision statements and feedback on important priorities

As another way to gather input, Northumberland County invites you to do the same at six sessions across the county:

Saturday, May 20 – Cobourg Farmers’ Market from 9 to 10 a.m.

Saturday, May 20 – Port Hope Farmers’ Market from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Friday, May 26 – Brighton Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, May 27 – Roseneath Library from 11 a.m. to noon

Saturday, May 27 – Bewdley Library from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 28 – Warkworth Lilac Festival from 10 a.m. to noon

Northumberland County’s 2023-2027 Community Strategic Plan will define a shared vision for the future, and identify priorities and actions that will set the county on the path to achieving it.

Making sure residents and community partners have a variety of opportunities to provide input is key to ensuring that a plan can be built that best reflects community needs and expectations.
Community and staff consultation will close June 2. A 16-member multi-disciplinary team of county staff will review consultation input, consider emerging trends and the municipal operating environment, and develop a Community Strategic Plan for recommendation to county council in August.

For more information on sharing your thoughts as part of the consultation process by June 2, visit JoinIn,Northumberalnd.ca
