Cobourg Cougars End Regular Season with Win Over St. Michael’s

In a game originally scheduled for Friday night in Toronto, but postponed due to the weather, the Cobourg Cougars defeated the St. Michael’s Buzzers 5-3 on Sunday afternoon as the Ontario Junior Hockey League regular season concluded.
George Krotiris led the way with two goals and an assist while Jesse English, Riley Pitt and Owen Wilson added single tallies for the Cougars, which won their third straight game and finished with a 32-16-1-5 record. They defeated the league-leading Toronto Jr. Canadiens 6-1 on Saturday night.
With a fifth-place finish in the OJHL’s South-East Conference standings, the Cougars will meet the fourth-place Trenton Golden Hawks (36-15-0-3) in the first round of playoffs. The Golden Hawks have won seven straight and 12 of their past 13 contests heading into the postseason.
Watch for the Cougars-Golden Hawks series schedule, which hasn’t been announced.
