Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Fraud (No Name Released)

In early December 2022, the Cobourg Police Service opened an investigation after receiving a report of online buy-and-sell fraud.

On Thursday, December 29, 2022, as a result of the police investigation, a woman attended the Cobourg Police Service to turn herself in.

The 33-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Two counts of Fraud Under $5,000 – contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CCC)

2. Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – contrary to section 354(1)(a) CCC

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for January 25, 2023
