Seven dancers from Jennifer’s Jazz It Up studio in Port Hope are in New York City and thankful for an opportunity to perform in an iconic parade.
As previously reported by Today’s Northumberland, JJIU was invited to perform in the 96th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The event is Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon and will be broadcast live on NBC as part of the American Thanksgiving celebrations.
This week, in addition to rehearsals, the dancers have toured NYC, including taking in a show by The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.
Led by Jennifer Mercer, representing JJIU are Jasmine Wilson, Bella Wilson, Sofia Cooksey, Georgia McDonald, William McDonald, Sidney Goodwin and McKenna Parker.
They will be part of a large contingent of dancers at the end of the parade, right before Mariah Carey and Santa Claus.
