YMCA Northumberland Strong Kids Duathlon Is Back

On Friday, August 26th 2022, YMCA Northumberland once again held their Strong Kids Duathlon at Centennial Pool and Victoria Park in Cobourg.

The Strong Kids Duathlon is for children ages three-years-old to 15-years -old and raises funds for programs focused on improving health and well-being throughout Northumberland County.

The smiles on both participates and supporters was evident everyone was glad to once again have the event back after a two-year hiatus due to COVID.

This family friendly, child focused duathlon is attended and sponsored by many Northumberland families and businesses bringing together like minded community supporters to raise awareness and funds to support YMCA Strong Communities Campaign.

Participants first started in the Centennial Pool then ran around Victoria Park before reaching the finish line.

“The Strong Kids Duathlon provides an opportunity for children to engage in friendly competition, while family, friends and YMCA Staff and Volunteers cheer them on. The event also helps bring awareness to YMCA Northumberland’s Strong Communities Campaign.” says Eunice Kirkpatrick, Chief Executive Officer, YMCA Northumberland.
