Peterborough County OPP – Fatal Collision on County Road 507

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT LAKES, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on County Road 507 just north of County Road 36 which occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening.

A vehicle was travelling southbound when it left the roadway and entered the ditch. The lone occupant was pronounced deceased at scene.

County Road 507 will be closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measure an d document the scene. For road closure information regarding this incident, or any other traffic related events please check Twitter @OPP_COMM_CR for ongoing updates.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
