Peterborough County OPP – Serious Golf Cart Collision

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a collision involving a golf cart on Villiers Line at approximately 12:20 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

A golf cart with six passengers on board was travelling southbound on Villiers Line near Bellmere Winds Golf Course when it rolled. A young male victim was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. An adult female victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported at the time of the collision.

Villiers Line south of County Road 2 was closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
