Ten People Displaced Following Structure Fire in Welcome

Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services attended a structure fire in Welcome on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

At approximately 2 p.m. fire services were dispatched to the dwelling that contained four apartments.

The fire appears to have started in the kitchen and had mostly burnt itself out due to the lack of oxygen. A tenant in another unit, also helped extinguish the fire along with members of the fire service.

Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000 and ten people are displaced as a result of the fire.
