Post Consumer Brands Cobourg Plant Holds Fundraiser for Local Women’s Shelters

In Community, Local

In honor of April’s National Volunteer Month, Post Consumer Brands is launching a new companywide initiative called “Ingredients for Good” that is focused on giving back to its communities. Through food and monetary donations or hands-on volunteer projects, each of the 12 locations across the U.S. and Canada where Post Consumer Brands operates will be undertaking projects to show their support for individuals and families in their communities.

Organizer, Rhonda Trail who is the Training Coordinator at Post it’s very important to give back to the community.

“We have a great group of people here and they are more than happy to help and give back.”

As a company, Post Consumer Brands takes pride in its local communities and supports them by giving back through food donations, philanthropic activities and volunteering.

Throughout the month of April, Post Consumer Brands Cobourg employees raised money and collected donations of toiletries, hygiene products and food for two local women’s shelters – Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre and The Denise House/Sedna Women’s Shelter and Support Services Inc.

Janelle Eisler Manager of Community Engagement with Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre said when she entered Post Consumer Brands on Friday, April 28, 2022 said she was “overwhelmed” when she saw the “amazing items from our wish list.”

“We had no idea what to expect.  To say we were overwhelmed is probably an understatement.  This is an incredible donation made by our community members that work here at Post.”

“It makes a huge impact.”

Plant Manager at Post in Cobourg, Craig Byers said he can’t say enough about the employees at the Cobourg plant.

“Our employees have been very active in the community for the past six months as part of our initiative, “Ingredients for Good.”

“We looked at other areas, not just in Food Banks, but we looked at things like The Denise House and Cornerstone here in the community to help give back to those who are in desperate need.  Especially those who are transitioning through a very traumatic situation.”
