Ganaraska Forest Prepares to Welcome all Recreational Users May 1, 2022

For Immediate Release, April 20, 2022, Ganaraska Watershed – The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is set to welcome all recreational users the Ganaraska Forest to
all recreational uses on Sunday, May 1, 2022. The following changes are new for 2022:

• As of May 1, Noone’s Petro Canada on Highway 35/115, and Sandaraska Park will no longer be selling Forest Day Passes or Memberships. The GRCA thanks them for their partnership over the years.

• Forest Memberships are only available to be purchased online at shop.ganaraskaconservation.ca

• Day passes are available at the Ganaraska Forest Centre Kiosk located at 10585 Cold Springs Camp Road or at shop.ganaraskaconservation.ca

• The purchased parking pass must be displayed on your vehicle dash when parked and purchased Forest Membership or Day Pass must be carried with a person digitally or in paper form.

• As of May 1, Day Pass and Forest Membership fees are increasing in order to reflect increased costs to offer recreational opportunities within the Ganaraska Forest. The fees were last reviewed and updated in 2016. The definition of Youth has also changed to under 12 years of age to align with the Off-Road Vehicle Act, the Ontario Hunter Apprenticeship Program, and the Ministry of Transportation’s Smart Ride Safe Ride publication.

About the Ganaraska Forest: The 11,000 plus acre Ganaraska Forest is privately owned and operated by the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority and offers a huge network of multiuse trails for a variety of recreational opportunities. A Day Pass or Forest Membership must be purchased to access the Ganaraska Forest.
