Cobourg Police – Suspect Charged With Package Theft (No Name Released)

A Cobourg man has been charged with theft after a package was taken from a porch in February.

On Thursday, February 10, 2022, police were called to a residence in the east end of Cobourg for a report of package theft. Through investigation, police identified a person of interest.

As a result, on Monday, March 7, 2022, a 38-year-old Cobourg man attended the Cobourg Police Service to turn himself in. The man was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of April 13, 2022.
