Worsening symptoms from COVID-19? Questions?

The COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre team is here to help!

** Please note: the Clinic will be operating again from the portable trailers outside the NHH Emergency Department (ED), effective Wednesday, February 2, 2022**

With ongoing support from a multidisciplinary team of NHH staff, area primary care providers, and Ontario Health Team of Northumberland partners, the NHH COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre offers a mix of virtual and in-person COVID-19 supports in an easy-to-access one-stop-shop model. Services include:
✓ Quick, direct access to a clinician
✓ Alternative to the Emergency Department (ED) for those with worsening symptoms or questions regarding whether or not their symptoms could be COVID-19
✓ Booked appointments, often same day; no need to wait in the ED
✓ Phone-based triage option to start (often avoids the need for an in-person visit)
✓ On-site testing with results in 12-24 hours (provincial eligibility for testing applies)
✓ Coordination of COVID-specific treatment with approved medications as applicable

Open daily, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre will soon be operating once again from the portable trailers outside the NHH Emergency Department (ED), effective Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

The Centre’s relocation is necessary to support the province’s staged resumption of nonurgent/non-emergent hospital services ramped down since January 6.
While walk-ins will continue to be welcomed, the team asks that you please CALL AHEAD to 1-905-377-7783 or toll free 1-833-678-2435 for a phone-based nursing assessment prior to arriving on site.

Visit nhh.ca/covid-centre for more information on Assessment Centre services and follow the street signage for wayfinding directions on arrival at NHH. As always, in all urgent situations, call 911 or go directly to the nearest ED.

For the latest information on COVID-19, including links to related resources, please see the COVID section on the hospital’s website, nhh.ca/covid-19
