Update – Cobourg Police – Two People Charged with Impaired Driving

Woman arrested for impaired operation after police respond to a single motor vehicle collision.
On December 21, 2021, at 9:43 p.m., police were dispatched to University Avenue West at Margaret Street for a report of a single motor vehicle collision. The vehicle was travelling westbound on University Avenue Westwhere it drove off the road striking a tree.
As a result of the police investigation, the driver, 44-year-old Scarborough resident, Natasha LITTLE, was arrested for operation while impaired and charged with the following offences:
1. Operation While Impaired by Alcohol or Drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
2. Have Care and Control of Vehicle or boat with Cannabis readily available contrary to section 12(1) of the Cannabis Act
The accused was released from custody on an undertaking and with a future court date.

Man arrested for impaired operation after police conduct well-being check in the northwest end of Cobourg.
On December 21, 2021, at 7:26 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg for a well-being check on an occupant located behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer that was parked with the engine running.
As a result of the police investigation, the operator was arrested for operation while impaired. As a result, 55-year-old, Brian KONINK of Smiths Falls, Ontario, was charged with the following offences:
1. Impaired operation contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
2. Impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration 80+ contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was released from custody on an Undertaking with a future court date.
