COVID-19 Outbreak Over at Campbellford Memorial Hospital

In Local

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak on the Medical/Surgical inpatient ward at Campbellford Memorial Hospital over as of December 14th.  Visiting is once again open to inpatients on the first floor and will follow the policy in place prior to the outbreak.  Patients on the first floor will be asked to identify two family members/caregivers that may visit them while in hospital.  Only one visitor may be scheduled per day and visiting hours will return to 10AM-8PM.

All visitors will be screened prior to entering the hospital and will not be allowed to enter if they are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms.  Visitors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their visit and will also be asked to remain in the room with the patient.   Special considerations will be put in place for patients receiving end of life care.  Approvals for additional visitors or extended hours must be approved by the unit Manager or Team Lead.

All other hospital operations, including the endoscopy program, have returned to regular operations and the Trenthills COVID Assessment Center remains open Tuesday and Thursday by appointment only.

As the holidays approach and with the spread of the omicron variant on the rise it is important that the community remain vigilant and maintain public health practices.  These include wearing a mask when you are outside of your household, frequent handwashing or using hand sanitizer, maintaining physical distancing of at least 6 feet and getting vaccinated, including getting a booster shot once eligible.

Campbellford Memorial Hospital would like to thank the community for their continued support and vigilance as we continue to navigate this pandemic.
