Cramahe Township announced the news Monday of the appointment of Chris Curwin as Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities.

Mayor Mandy Martin said she was pleased to welcome the life-long Northumberland County resident to the municipality’s senior management team.

He has a comprehensive background in administering and organizing community sports and public events,” Martin said.

In addition, he has a strong background in public property management. Our Keeler Centre and roster of public parks and facilities will benefit from his expertise.”

Curwin has previously worked more than 10 years in recreation, more than half of them as a municipal manager. He has a Parks & Recreation Management Certificate, and is a certified ice technician and Canada-certified playground inspector. He has completed successful grant applications, created property-management schedules, designed and installed park and playground facilities, and overseen capital refrigeration projects.

His organizational skills have been honed through such events as the 2018 Toronto Marlies Calder Cup, various NHL and AHL games (working with Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment since 2014), the NBA, concerts, the Royal Winter Fair and Toronto Boat Show.

I’m very excited to get started and make a positive impact for all residents of the Township of Cramahe,” the new Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities stated.
