Peterborough County OPP – Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 28 at approximately 3:00pm on October 29, 2021. The vehicle was located and stopped north of Burleigh Falls. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs. Three parties are facing charges.

Randy GREENWOOD (age 58) of Highlands East, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-other drugs

The accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 7, 2021.

Teresa JONES (age 40) of Highlands East, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-cocaine

Jeffrey MCCOLL (age 36) of Omemee, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Obstruct peace officer

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on December 8, 2021.
