Northumberland OPP – Shooting Investigation in Trent Hills

Suspect Remains Outstanding

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a shooting at a residential property on Centennial Lane in Trent Hills. The suspect involved remains outstanding.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, at approximately 8:12 a.m., Northumberland OPP, along with Northumberland Paramedics, responded to reports of a male at a residence suffering from a suspected gunshot wound. The male was transported to a hospital where he currently remains in life-threatening condition.

Police a re currently searching for the suspect identified as Zachary COMEAU, 18 years of age, of no fixed address. He is described as a white male, approximately 5’11”, 150lbs, with blue eyes and brown wavy/curly hair. He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, DO NOT APPROACH and call 9-1-1 immediately.

Members of the Northumberland OPP, in conjunction with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and the Canine Unit, conducted a search of the area with negative results.

Members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. More information will be released as it becomes available.
