Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm

Police arrested a man for assault after police respond to a call at a Cobourg address.
On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 11:28 pm, Cobourg Police Service uniform officers were dispatched to an
address near Division Street and Chapel Street in Cobourg for a report of an assault. The victim suffered minor
injuries.


As a result of police investigation, 47-year-old Grant Hooper of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the
following offences:

Assault Causing Bodily Harm: Contrary to section 267(b)of the Criminal Code of Canada

Assault Peace Officer: Contrary to Section 270(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada

Fail to Comply with Probation: Contrary to Section 733.1(1) Criminal Code of Canada


Hooper was held for a show cause hearing.
