Cobourg Toques Help Out Kids in Northumberland

In City Hall, Community, Local

In anticipation of Rogers Hometown Hockey back in January 2020, the Town of Cobourg launched a #Cobourg Toque fundraiser in support of KidSport Canada – Northumberland Chapter, a local organization that helps children in our community join sports and recreational activities by providing financial grants to cover the costs of registration and equipment.

The toques were such a huge success that Cobourg had to triple their original order. In total, over 1,400 toques, and on Wednesday, March 25, 2021, the town presented a cheque in the amount of $6,225.00 to Paul Allen and Jennifer Ashley of Northumberland Sports Council on behalf of KidSport.

The town would like to thank our entire community for supporting this fundraiser.

The toque idea came from Communications Manager Ashley Purdy with the help of Communications Coordinator Maddie Forestell who designed the toque.

The toques were then sold to not only ensure the Town was well brand represented when Rogers Hometown Hockey came but also with the intent of proceeds going towards KidSport Northumberland.
