Cobourg – Final Air Release Valve Replacement Begins February 9th on Bay Street

The Town of Cobourg’s Environmental Services Department would like to advise residents that the air release valves in the sewer, or forcemain, running under Bay Street will be replaced beginning Tuesday, February 9, 2021 and completed on February 10, 2021, weather permitting.

During this time, the section of Bay Street, between Henry and D’Arcy Streets will be closed to all except local traffic. Additionally, there may be several hours where home owners near the excavation site will be unable to access their driveway.

The Town of Cobourg apologizes for this necessary inconvenience however this work is critical to the proper operation of the forcemain. This will be the final air release valves needing to be installed in the sanitary sewer forcemain that runs from the McGill Pump Station in Victoria Park to Hamilton Court.
