Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

Alnwick/Haldimand firefighters responded to a mobile home fire on Dunnette Landing Road on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. firefighters responded to the mobile home fire on the shore of Rice Lake.

When the arrived on scene, the mobile home had been consumed by fire.

The owner stated he was using a heat gun to thaw a pipe from underneath the trailer when a fire started. The owner quickly grabbed an extinguisher and thought he had the fire under control. But when he came back with another the fire was to well involved.

The owners dog also escaped the blaze.

No word on estimate of damage, but the owner said it wasn’t insured.
