Port Hope Police – Cobourg Man Arrested for Impaired Driving (No Name Released)

A 32-year-old Cobourg male is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision in Port Hope.

On March 15, 2026, in the evening, police responded to a collision at the intersection of Jocelyn Street and Cavan Street. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had struck a barrier. The driver had fled the scene prior to police arrival but was located nearby and taken into custody.

Police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol. Subsequent breath tests confirmed a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

As a result, a 32-year-old male has been charged with:

Operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs)

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
