All Clear At CCI – Health Unit Confirms No COVID-19

In Local

Letter issued by CCI Principal Jamie Patenall

November 24, 2020

Dear CCI Students, Staff and Families,

Yesterday, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit notified us they were investigating a possible case of COVID-19 at our school, and, to err on the side of caution, the health unit asked us to take precautions while waiting for the test results.

We are pleased to report that we DO NOT have a COVID case at CCI. Any students and staff who were asked to self-isolate may now return to school and regular activities.

We appreciate that this may have been a stressful time for students, staff and parents. To help keep students and staff safe, we always work closely with our local health agencies to respond to issues, and we follow all their recommendations.

To continue to protect yourselves, your children and the community, the health unit recommends that you stay home if you are sick; complete daily self-screening; continue to physically distance from others as much as possible; wear a mask when indoors, on a bus, or when you cannot maintain a two metre distance outside; clean hands often with soap and water or hand sanitizer; cough and sneeze into your sleeve; avoid touching your face; avoiding sharing personal items with others; and avoid close contact with anyone who is ill.
