(Most of the) Fence Comes Down At Victoria Beach in Cobourg

In Editor Choice, Local

The fence has come down and Victoria Beach in Cobourg is officially open – for the most part.

The fence has been up since June 5, 2020 and on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 Parks Department staff with the Town of Cobourg.

The fencing was up as a result of COVID-19 to close off the beach from the crowds during the summer.

Just recently council announced the beach would be open through the week, but closed again on weekends.

But on Wednesday, much to the delight of people on the boardwalk, the fencing came down for most of the beach.

A small section is still closed off until a ceremony takes place this coming Saturday to unveil a statue. There are a limited number of guests because of COVID-19, so the fence was placed around the area.
