Exclusive – Cobourg’s Most Infamous Tagger Supports Graffiti Art Installation

In Editor Choice, Local

The time has come for a graffiti art installation says Cobourg’s most infamous tagger.

In a exclusive interview on Monday, August 31, 2020, ACE said it would be a great idea.

ACE which is the acronym for “Always Change Evolution” is a 36-year-old Cobourg family man who has a full-time job.

He’s been tagging areas around Cobourg for the last two years and estimates he’s done approximately 200 spots.

ACE told Today’s Northumberland he thinks it’a a great idea what councillor Adam Bureau is proposing.

“There is more than just me from the illegal standpoint and from the legal standpoint there is a lot of people reaching me saying they can’t wait to throw something up on a wall.”

“I’m really looking forward to sharing those experiences together.”

ACE said since the interview with Today’s Northumberland on Friday, August 28, 2020 he has not done any illegal graffiti/tagging – yet.

But he did show Today’s Northumberland his “black book” filled with drawings he’s done.  ACE has also been busy creating artwork on plywood.

Even though some of his work is on fresh walls, there are times he does it to remove vulgar words or images.

ACE shared a video of a penis someone had spray painted on a garbage receptacle at Donegan Park.

The image was there for a number of weeks, until one evening ACE decided to create a garden over top of the image.

At the underpass on Division Street, a person had spray painted foul language regarding COVID-19.

ACE painted over it with the words “Be Safe” and “Stay Strong.”

It’s not ACE is a saint, and he freely admits he’s a sinner, but at times, he’s looking to clean up the community.

“It’s a hobby that I have. Whether it be in a book or on a wall.”

And freely he admits he’d pay for a wall for his artwork if there was one available.

ACE is calling on other graffiti, “to come out of their shell” and join together to support a art installation.
