Update – Peterborough County OPP – Driver Succumbs to Injuries Following Collision

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – The driver of the eastbound pick-up truck has died as a result of the injuries suffered in the collision. The deceased has been identified as Stephen BUTLER (age 45) from Emily Township, Ontario.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews are currently on scene at a collision which occurred at approximately 11:00am at the intersection of Keene Road and Base Line.

A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) travelling southbound on Keene Road collided with a pick-up truck travelling eastbound on Base Line. Two victims from the pick-up truc k have been transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. One victim from the CMV has been transported to a local hospital.

Keene Road is closed between Redmond Road and County Road 2 while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. The closure will remain in place for several hours while police investigate.
