HKPR District Health Unit – Update on Local COVID-19 Outbreaks

The local public health unit today is providing an update on the COVID-19 outbreaks in its area.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is working with the following facilities currently in outbreak:

Fenelon Court Long Term Care Home – Fenelon Falls, Ontario
This outbreak was declared on May 18 after one asymptomatic staff person tested positive for COVID-19 during enhanced surveillance testing.

Empire Crossing Retirement Home – Port Hope, Ontario
This outbreak was declared on May 16 after one asymptomatic resident tested positive for COVID-19 during enhanced surveillance testing.

Kawartha Lakes Retirement Residence – Bobcaygeon, Ontario
This outbreak was declared on May 12 after one staff person tested positive for COVID-19 during enhanced surveillance testing.

Outbreaks Declared Over:
Caressant Care Mary – Lindsay, Ontario
This outbreak was declared on May 4 after one resident tested positive for COVID-19. It was today declared over by the Health Unit.

Maplewood Nursing Home – Brighton, Ontario
This outbreak was declared on May 4 after one resident tested positive for COVID-19. This outbreak was declared over today by the Health Unit.
