Bear Ventures Into Cobourg’s West End

In Local

Bear ventures around Cobourg’s west end for last several days.

“Bear – big bear!,” shouted Jen Powles from her west-end Cobourg home.

It was Thursday night shortly after 8 p.m. when she looked out her Glen Watford home and saw the bear walking along the road and up a neighbours driveway.

“It was remarkable to see it going down the street in the daylight.”

Powles tried to get a photo, but her phone was charging so she called her son who snapped an image.

Some neighbours came out and scared it off by clapping pots and pans.

There have been other sightings of the bear in the west end including at King and Burnham area and in the Westwood Drive area.
