Cobourg Public Works Friendly Reminder

In Local

Town of Cobourg Public Works would like to remind residents to ONLY flush toilet paper into the sewer system, NOT paper towels, tissues, napkins or wipes.

Last week, the Environmental Services Department found a massive plug in the sewer line which consisted of wipes, gloves, paper towel and many other products that are not meant to be flushed.

Flushing debris can cause your sewer line and downstream infrastructure to become damaged and jeopardize the operations of the sewage treatment plants and pumping stations.

Please do your part to take care of and maintain your sanitary system as a critical component of your household. Learn more at https://bit.ly/2XzRCwI
