“They Were Here” – A Community Vigil Remembering Those Who Have Died From A Overdose

An event sponsored by Greenwood Coalition brought out family and friends of people who have died from overdoses.

“They Were Here” was a community-led vigil in front of Victoria Hall on Sunday, March 8, 2020 starting at 2 p.m.

It was a time to remember lives lost in the face of the opioid epidemic.

Loved ones spoke about the loss of loved ones to drug overdoses in the community.

It was a place to grieve, honour and celebrate loved ones lost to overdose while offering hope and community to those living with addiction.

Attendees were be invited to create and hang a flag of hope to commemorate a loved one who has died.

Vocalist, Joyce Lichtenberger and her husband, guitarist, Perry performed a number of moving songs throughout the vigil.
