Cobourg Police – Investigating Identity Fraud of $133,000

On the 4th of February 2020, Cobourg Police attended the Royal Bank located at 66 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario regarding an unknown male using altered identification to obtain $133,000 from the victim’s bank account.

The Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch is currently working with Royal Bank of Canada security team employees to investigate this incident.

The Cobourg Police Service continues to actively seek information from anyone who may have information about this event. Any with information is asked to contact the Cobourg Police at (905) 372-6821 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
