Cobourg Police – Warrant and Drug Arrest

On Wednesday December 18th, 2019 Police were on general patrol and observed Michael BERRYMAN, a 25-year-old male from Cobourg walking in the downtown area of Cobourg. Police were aware BERRYMAN was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court held by the Cobourg Police Service.

Police arrested BERRYMAN and after investigation located a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Further BERRYMAN was failing to comply with court conditions from a previous arrest.

BERRYMAN was charged with the following offences:
1. Possession of a Controlled Substance in Schedule I – to wit Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
2. Fail to Comply with Recognizance – Contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
3. Fail to Comply with Recognizance – Contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

BERRYMAN was held for a bail hearing.
