Quinte West OPP – Six Charged in Connection with Series of Break and Enters

On Thursday December 5, 2019, members of the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the Quinte West OPP Community Street Crime Unit, and Belleville Police Service entered into an investigation for a series of Break and Enters that occurred in Quinte West, Northumberland, Centre Hastings and Belleville.

The investigation led to the execution of three search warrants. The search warrants were executed on December 5, 2019, at a residence on Sidney Street in Belleville, a residence on Crown Street in Trenton, and one on a motor vehicle.

Damion LAVANIOUS, 36 years old, of Trenton has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
Fail to Comply with a Recognizance (x4 Counts)
Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
Break and Enter Residence (x5 Counts)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00

Aaron CLIMAN, 38 years old, of Ottawa and Kyle LAIRD, 30 years old, and Natasha MARONEY, 43 years old, both of Trenton have each been charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Kimberlee SMITH, 29 years old, of Trenton and Joshua MORGAN, 28 years old, of Belleville have both been charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00 (x3 Counts)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00

The accused persons were held for bail and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 9, 2019. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are expected to be laid. The OPP will release more details as they become available.
