Breaking News – No Injuries After Mercedes SUV Engulfed In Flames On Highway 401 At Cobourg

A 2011 Mercedes SUV was destroyed by fire on Highway 401 at Cobourg on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department, Hamilton Township Fire Department and Cobourg Fire Department responded to the fire at approximately 3:35 p.m. on the westbound Highway 401 off-ramp at County Road 45 in Cobourg.

The two occupants from Colborne pulled over on the westbound off-ramp at Cobourg after they saw smoke coming from the vehicle.

They made it safely out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames.

No exact word on how the fire started and the off-ramp was closed for approximately one hour.
