Municipal Grant Public Meeting Scheduled In Cobourg

In City Hall

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
Cobourg council will grant a Nov. 25 hearing to all parties who have applied for consideration in the form of municipal grants.

These are donations, gifts of in-kind services and other forms of support that will be considered as part of the town’s 2020 budget – an item the town has in recent years considered on a one-time annual basis as opposed to council submissions throughout the year as the need comes up. Presentations and appeals are made at the annual Municipal Grant Public Meeting, considered, and then (if deemed acceptable) made part of that budget item.

The Legislative Services Department has announced that the Municipal Grant Public Meeting is set for 3 p.m. Nov. 25, an earlier time than previously announced in a bid to ensure that enough time is given for all presenting applicants prior to the 6 p.m. scheduled start of that evening’s committee-of-the-whole council meeting.

It will take place in council chambers, located on the third floor east at Victoria Hall (55 King St. W., Cobourg). Presentations will also be broadcast live on the town’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/townofcobourg).

The agenda is now available through the Civic Web portal at http://cobourg.civicweb.net/portal.

For more information, contact municipal clerk Brent Larmer (905-372-4301 or blarmer@cobourg.ca).
