Northumberland OPP – Drug Charges Laid During Traffic Stop

On July 27, 2019 an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a grey Dodge sedan on Highway 401 eastbound just east of Brighton after it was measured travelling 141km/h.

As a result of the investigation that took place at the location of the traffic stop a 23-year-old male from Stoney Creek, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
· Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
· Speeding

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brighton on September 3, 2019.
