Durham Police – 27-Year Member of DRPS Charged With Theft

A civilian employee of the DRPS has been charged with theft and suspended from duty.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2019 civilian employee Anna NEWMAN, age 51, was arrested and charged by members of the Professional Standards Unit. She was working at the front desk of Central West Division in Whitby, but is now suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the case.

It is alleged she stole a purse that had been turned in at the front desk where she worked.

She has been charged with Theft and Breach of Trust. She is a 27-year member of the DRPS.
