Cobourg Police – Two Males Arrested for Assault

The Cobourg Police Service has arrested two males for assault. On Sunday the 20th of January, 2019, at approximately 12:30am, Officers received information that a male had been assault in the downtown core. The male was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for further medical treatment.
As a result of a subsequent Police investigation 40 year old Benjamin Staples of Cobourg and 41 year old Jason Staples of Oshawa were arrested and charged with aggravated assault under the Criminal Code. The accused parties were subsequently released from custody on a Promise to Appear, scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Apri1 2019.
