Rotary Club of Trenton Launches New Application Process for Local Community Service Assistance

In Community

The Rotary Club of Trenton officially launched its new application process for Community Service contributions for the 2018-19 Rotary year during a special press conference at the Trent Port Marina yesterday. While the Club has been quietly donating to various community groups in support of local initiatives for many years, the new application process accompanied by a specific donor scoring criteria for vetting applications was devised to ensure fair and equitable consideration for all applicants.
“Our club’s new application process will enable us to provide volunteer efforts, what we refer to as sweat equity, as well as monetary contributions in a well-planned, more efficient and generally timely manner,” says Sandi Ramsay, Director of Community Service for the Rotary Club of Trenton.
In the past, several local charitable organizations have relied on the support of the Rotary Club of Trenton to assist them with delivery of their programs and services.
“Our club has been servicing the Trenton region since 1922,” adds Ramsay. “We have provided support to literally a plethora of important local causes including the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, youth centres, the public library, Quinte West Fire Fighters Coats for Kids, Quinte West Community Policing’s Bike Rodeo, Quinte Sailability, local chapters of the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society, local youth sports organizations, the Wilf Wilkinson Splash pad at Centennial Park, CFB-Trenton military appreciation efforts, our National Air Force Museum of Canada and dozens of other historical and environmental initiatives.”

“At the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, we are extremely grateful for support from the Rotary Club of Trenton. They have been instrumental in helping us to improve the overall health of our entire community,” stated Wendy Warner, Executive Director for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The Rotary Club of Trenton will be donating $25,000 directly back into the Quinte West community by early Spring, in addition to another $45,000 earmarked for a special community project the club plans to officially announce more about later this year.
Meanwhile, local causes in need of assistance in Quinte West are encouraged to apply for funding using the new application process. The application can be found online at TrentonRotary.ca, under ‘Community Service’.
The deadline for receiving applications for the 2018-19 Rotary year is Friday, March 15, 2019 by 11:59 PM.
