Quinte West OPP – Collision Leads to Impaired Charges Against Off Duty Officer

Employment Status – Suspended with Pay

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 7, 2018 at approximately 3:36 a.m., officers from the Quinte WestDetachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving an off-duty OPP officer. The vehicle he was operating left the roadway and struck a fence on Radeski Street, in the City of Quinte West. 

Provincial Constable Allan Howard DETLOR, a 13 year member currently serving in Quinte West in East Region was charged with:

• Driving while Ability Impaired s. 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC); and with

• Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood s. 253(1)(b) of the CC.

• Obstruct Peace Officer s. 129(a) of the CC.

The officer has been suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on October 25, 2018.

No injuries were reported resulting from the crash.
