Transport Goes Off Highway Into Ditch

Traffic was backed up on Highway 401 on Friday, October 5, 2018 as a transport truck was hauled out of the ditch just west of Cobourg.

At approximately 10:40 a.m. a transport truck went into the ditch approximately two kilometres west of Burnham Street.

The transport clipped a highway sign, but there appeared to be no visible major damage to the truck.

Northumberland County Paramedics, Northumberland OPP, Hamilton Township Fire Department and Cobourg Fire Department attended the scene

The driver was charged with careless driving.
