Get ready to run (or walk if you prefer), in support of Rebound’s On-TRAC Program with Kilometers for Kids – Building Mental Wellness at the gorgeous Presqu’ile Provincial Park on Sunday October 14th, 2018. Participants can choose from a 1km, 5km or 11km walk/run.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for families, dog walkers and budding runners alike to enjoy a morning stroll or dash through a beautiful park and, at the same time, support the success of children and youth participating in the On-TRAC Program. On-TRAC is a program that offers opportunities for youth throughout Northumberland to develop self-awareness skills, social skills building, coping skills, life-skills as well as for them to receive support and counselling for underlying mental health issues. This program is important to the children and youth of our community. At Rebound we understand that for our community to prosper in the future, children and youth must have opportunities to grow and develop. Providing timely interventions, support and assistance is key to insuring each young person has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Event coordinator, Rachel Edwards reminds all participants that this is a fun run for a great cause. This run provides funding for a program that would otherwise be under funded.
“We will have swag bags for everyone, prizes for the winners, face painting, scavenger hunts and more,” Rachel said.
